OUR PROGRAM - Rest & Rec

Now Launching: A Lifeline for Caregivers. A Place of Joy for Seniors.

We’re excited to introduce a new Respite Program for Ashland and Bayfield Counties, created for adults 55+ living with dementia and the caregivers who love them.

This program fills a critical gap—and it’s needed now.

Our drop-in respite centers will run 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. at local churches, led by trained volunteers through Faith in Action - Ashland & Bayfield Counties.

Seniors enjoy gentle, engaging activities—puzzles, crafts, reading, conversation, and companionship—while caregivers finally get time to rest, run errands, or recharge.

We’re grateful that United Presbyterian Congregational Church is our first community partner, generously donating space to help launch this much-needed program.

πŸ‘‰ Volunteers urgently needed!

We’re looking for Activity Buddies—caring people willing to sit, chat, read, play games, create, and connect. No medical care required. Just patience, kindness, and presence.

βœ” Safe, supportive environment
βœ” Designed for participants who can manage personal hygiene
βœ” Improves quality of life for seniors
βœ” Reduces caregiver stress and burnout

Training is FREE.
The impact is priceless.

This program hasn’t existed here before—and our community can’t wait any longer.

Join us. Volunteer. Spread the word. Help families breathe again.

Together, we’re building more compassionate and connected communities—one moment of respite at a time.
