Drop-in Social Respite
A Program of Faith in Action

NEW
PROGRAM!

Introducing our new Respite Program for Ashland and Bayfield Counties, designed specifically for seniors aged 55 and older. This initiative aims to provide much-needed relief for caregivers while offering engaging activities for individuals with dementia.

Our drop-in centers, conveniently located at local churches, will be open from 10 am to 2 pm, staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers and run by Faith in Action - Ashland & Bayfield Counties.

Our first supporter is the United Presbyterian Congregational Church. They have generously donated their space for our program. We're actively looking for volunteers who would like to be activity buddies - doing puzzles, crafts, reading books, chatting, word finds, etc., all to enrich the lives of those who need gentle companionship while their loved one gets a well-needed break.

Our program offers a safe and supportive environment where seniors with dementia, who can manage their personal hygiene, can enjoy recreational activities, social interaction, and mental stimulation. This not only enhances their quality of life but also provides a sense of community and belonging.

For caregivers, our respite centers offer a crucial break from their demanding responsibilities, allowing them time to rest, run errands, or simply recharge. By alleviating caregiver stress and burnout, we aim to improve the overall well-being of both caregivers and their loved ones.

This program addresses a significant gap in our community, providing essential services that have not been available until now. The benefits are twofold: caregivers receive the support they need to continue their vital role, and individuals with dementia or disabilities gain access to enriching experiences that promote their mental and emotional health.

Join us in supporting this valuable initiative that enhances the lives of seniors and their caregivers in Ashland and Bayfield Counties.

Training is FREE, and the love you receive is immeasurable!
Together, we can build stronger, more compassionate communities.
